Analysis of Pefume Adverts I have chosen to analyse to perfume adverts, one for Kylie Minogue's 'Sexy Darling' and the other for Ghost's 'Sweetheart'. Kylie Minogue's advert is predominantly red, with a low angle mid-shot of the popstar. The low-angled shot means that we are looking up to Kylie, both literally and metaphorically, whilst the red colours and shades connote feelings of passion.
The perfume product that I am going to analyze is called “Dolce” made by an Italian luxury company “Dolce and Gabbana.” This is a floral female fragrance. Two glossy pages of advertisement consist of one beautiful female model, a sophisticated perfume bottle, and the printed words including the perfume name. They are very specific about what they advertise and clearly link their brand.
The Messages in this ad are subversive with no real slogan saying that you will be like the model in the ad at all, let alone beautiful. However, I do think this ad is trying to sell you a lifestyle, to be whoever you want, as she is not wearing any makeup at all and has her hair.
